Q and A with Jackie

For almost 20 years, The Jewelry Gallery of Oyster Bay has been providing high-quality jewelry at affordable prices, from GIA-certified diamonds to custom-made engagement rings. The Jewelry Gallery is a family-owned business with a staff that spans three generations. Manager Jackie Einhorn discusses this and how the gallery distinguishes itself from the competition in a special one-on-one with Patch.

Patch: How long have you been doing business in Oyster Bay?

Einhorn: We have been in our Oyster Bay location for nearly two decades. It's the perfect location since it's a big corner store in a town with such an interesting history.Patch: What attracted you to the business you're in? How did you get started?

Patch: What attracted you to the business you're in? How did you get started?

Einhorn: The store has its beginnings in coins and collectibles. Ira, the owner, is a world-renowned coin dealer — he's even in the Guinness Book of World Records! As the prices of precious metals skyrocketed, people were flocking to Coin Galleries of Oyster Bay to cash in their unwanted jewelry, flatware, etcetera. That was when I came on board. I was originally brought in as a buyer, but I didn't have much of an interest in coins. I began refurbishing some of the pieces of jewelry and reselling them at heavily discounted prices, and a few years later, The Jewelry Gallery was born. We now manufacture a line in our store, have a master jeweler on premises, stock several watch lines and create all kinds of amazing custom work.

Patch: Describe your work in three words.
Einhorn: Sparkly, rewarding, evolving.
